Uninstall
Uninstalling removes Cerberon from the machine and keeps your data, so a later installation picks up where you left off. Deleting the data is a separate, deliberate step.
Linux
curl -fsSL https://license.cerberon.dev/install.sh | sh -s -- --uninstallIt lists what it will remove and asks you to type uninstall. Add --yes to skip the question in automation.
| Removed | Kept |
|---|---|
| Cerberon's containers, and any scanner containers it started | The data volume cerberon_cerberon-data: scans, findings, reports, accounts, keys |
| Cerberon's images, the scanner tools and the mobile analyser image | ~/.cerberon/instance: this machine's identity and licence |
~/.cerberon/docker-compose.yml, releases, work, tls | ~/.cerberon/backups, ~/.cerberon/.env, ~/.cerberon/logs |
At the end it prints what was kept, its size, and how to delete it. Docker itself is left installed.
Install again with the usual command. It reuses the machine's licence (no key needed, and it does not count as a new machine) and your data; the scanner tools are built again.
Delete the data as well (cannot be undone):
docker volume rm cerberon_cerberon-data
sudo rm -rf ~/.cerberonWindows
In PowerShell as Administrator:
Uninstall Cerberon inside WSL, keeping the data as above:
wsl -d Ubuntu-24.04 -- sh -c "curl -fsSL https://license.cerberon.dev/install.sh | sh -s -- --uninstall"Remove what the Windows installer added:
Unregister-ScheduledTask -TaskName Cerberon -Confirm:$false netsh interface portproxy delete v4tov4 listenport=443 listenaddress=0.0.0.0 Remove-NetFirewallRule -Name Cerberon-443 Get-NetFirewallHyperVRule | Where-Object DisplayName -like "Cerberon*" | ForEach-Object { Remove-NetFirewallHyperVRule -Name $_.Name } Remove-Item C:\ProgramData\Cerberon -Recurse -ForceTo delete everything, including the data, remove the Ubuntu distribution Cerberon used. This deletes everything inside it and cannot be undone:
wsl --unregister Ubuntu-24.04
WSL itself, and the WSL settings in %USERPROFILE%\.wslconfig, are left in place because other software may use them. Remove them in Settings → Apps → Optional features and by deleting the file if nothing else needs them.
Moving to another machine
Uninstalling does not free the licence for another machine: the licence stays tied to this machine's identity. See moving to another machine.
